Care & Share International Foundation
A philanthropic organization, Care & Share extends medical assistance to financially deprived patients of varying age groups. It also conducts public awareness drives on social causes and rehabilitation of people affected by calamities. Mr. Muraleedharan is the Chairman, PadmashriMammootty, the Chief Patron and Rev. Father Thomas Kurian, the Managing Director of this Foundation.
The key initiatives of Care & Share are:
Hridayasparsham
Organises free heart surgeries for pediatric patients below 12 years, listed as ‘Below Poverty Line’, in Kerala and Lakshadweep by mobilising funds for the surgery. In association with leading hospitals in Kerala, well equipped to perform Coronary surgeries, this scheme aims to rescue 100 children from life threatening heart diseases every year.
Prateeksha
Prateeksha or hope and optimism for the future, is reflective of the society’s aspiration to discard its gloomy yesterday and embrace a bright and better tomorrow.
Social taboos like smoking, drug addiction, alcoholism and other similar evils are on the rampage today. And children are most vulnerable to such vices. To ward off these evils and to reform society, the organisation has been conducting vigorous programmes regularly. Mass media campaign, posters, hoardings, billboards, Internet, emails and SMS are the tools adopted to curtail the spread of these social evils.
Suraksha
Suraksha, or safety, as the name suggests is a primary concern addressed by the Foundation to rebuild the lives of those hit by the vagaries of nature. To this end, the society has formed a full-fledged “Natural Calamity Management System” equipped to meet any eventuality during natural calamity and to provide appropriate rehabilitation to those affected.
